The strong attendance figures come after the recent news that preliminary comparable television viewing figures are up worldwide from the previous FIFA World CupTM edition.More than three million tickets have been sold for the event, and all 32 countries have already taken the field.

The Lusail Stadium game between Brazil and Serbia on November 24 drew the largest match attendance of the competition with 88,103 spectators. Brazil won 2-0. With a total of 98,000 fans present throughout the day, the FIFA Fan FestivalTM at Doha’s Al Bidda Park also experienced its biggest cumulative attendance on that same day.

Every FIFA World CupTM game is broadcast live on massive screens, and viewers from around the globe enjoy the free intermission entertainment, which features some of the biggest names in the world of music.

Although the majority of the games presently only have minimal or no ticket availability, fans are advised to monitor FIFA.com/tickets frequently as further ticket batches may be published and the resale platform is active.

For each of the eight stadiums hosting matches at the 22nd edition of the event, FIFA earlier in the week defined the official capacities and tournament requirements. It has been established that Qatar’s contemporary stadium can accommodate as many people as, if not more, than the limitations imposed by FIFA.

FIFA requires that the semifinals, opening game, and final all take place in stadiums that can accommodate at least 60,000, 80,000, and 80,000 fans, respectively. Al Bayt Stadium can accommodate up to 68,895 spectators, however the magnificent Lusail Stadium can accommodate 88,966. With a minimum capacity of 40,000 required for all other games, the demountable Stadium 974 is the smallest of all the Qatar 2022 sites (44,089).

The tournament’s capacity estimates have been set after all operational preparations have been made, including the final seating layout and temporary infrastructure for media, broadcasters, and visitors. It was also clarified that the numbers for legacy mode are different and supplied by the Host Nation and that they may fluctuate somewhat for specific matches like the opening and final.
